Abstract artist K. Kostolny uses color and texture to dramatic effect in his bold mixed-media compositions. In “The Blues,” blue geometric shapes are arranged on a contrasting gray background. As in all of his signature works, the complex interplay of varied colors and textures make for a visually compelling end result. Working in southern Germany, Kostolny carefully pieces together untraditional materials like fabric and metallic strips to create unique works that are notable for their depth and tactile quality.
