The Coen Brothers “abide” giving us their most popular cult classic based on a case of mistaken identity. Gangsters break into slacker Jeffrey “Dude” Lebowski’s house and pee on his rug, believing he’s the L.A. millionaire Jeffrey Lebowski whose wife owes them big bucks. When Dude seeks compensation for his rug, he is recruited by the maverick to be the liaison between him and the gangsters who have supposedly kidnapped his wife in a dirty double-crossing scheme. Slacker Dude comes to realize, if you can’t fight ‘em, go bowling!
