James Coleman creates glimmering, storybook scenes in masterfully colored artworks. Originally from Hollywood, California, Coleman was a Walt Disney Studios' mailroom employee who became a background animation specialist for several decades. His art was integral to many Disney classics, but he eventually turned to painting full-time. In his gleaming, Impressionistic works, Coleman tries “to push the statement I am making to its ultimate, both in design and use of color.” Displayed in many galleries, Coleman’s lustrous creations are also featured in New York’s esteemed Metropolitan Museum of Art.
